Remento Review: Harry Z.

Harry reflects on how Remento enabled his 89-year-old mother to effortlessly record and preserve her life stories, transforming her informal narratives into beautifully transcribed written accounts that future generations can cherish.

Harry purchased Remento for his mom for Christmas. He describes how easy it was for her to get started using Remento, plus how amazed he's been with the accuracy and quality of the stories created from her recordings. Get the Remento Book for your family too.

My mother just turned 89. She found it very easy....She was able to set it up with no help from me or anyone else...I was very impressed with is her recording and how that was transcribed. It was very good. I was very impressed with it...[turning] informal talking into something written."

Why I bought the Remento Book

During a Thanksgiving dinner with friends, a 90-year-old gentleman introduced me to an interesting concept. His daughter had given him a software program to record his life stories, which then created a book from his narratives. This idea intrigued me, since we all hear snippets of our parents' and grandparents' tales but rarely consolidate them into a consistent format to pass down to future generations. I borrowed the book but found the writing lacking in quality and filled with grammatical errors. Dissatisfied, I began researching better alternatives. That's when I stumbled upon Remento, which was different from all other products in that it didn’t require writing by way of turning recorded reflections into written stories. I knew this would be perfect for my family.

Perfect for my elderly mother

My mother just turned 89 years old when I gifted her Remento and she was able to set everything up without my help. I find it so impressive that she’s able to not only record stories herself, but then also make edits to the written story herself.

Great prompts

One of the attributes I admire about the Remento platform is the abundant and versatile range of questions provided. The platform doesn’t force users to stick to a fixed set of weekly questions. Instead, it allows users either to choose from a variety of prompts or create their own, which is wonderful since everyone’s experiences and priorities are unique.

Her stories, plus her voice

Remento offers a beautiful means of preserving loved ones' voices and stories. It allows individuals not only to share written narratives and photographs but also to record their stories in their own voice. Many of us wish that we could listen to our parents' voices once again, and Remento offers a chance to make that wish come true.

The beauty of the Remento Book is that it compiles the fragmented stories from our parents, and grandparents making it a more solid, tangible recording of their lives. It’s heartwarming to think that through Remento, future generations can pick up a book, flip to their favorite chapter, and relive cherished family histories.
